III. Our Program

The Horse Retirement Home offers a unique boarding program specifically tailored to retired horses. We do not allow breeding, riding, training or lessons on the farm in order to not disturb our older residents with the activities that normally occur at boarding stables. The Horse Retirement Home is a quiet, stress free senior lifestyle. Senior activities include squirrel watching, bird watching, grazing, napping under giant oak trees and socializing with other retirees.

Turnout

Horses are turned out in large pastures with free choice access to shade and shelter in groups of four or less. Each group will occasionally be rotated from one pasture to another for new experiences. If a boarder is a bully and bites or kicks he or she will be asked to leave. We will not tolerate senior abuse.
